If you look hard enough, there is a silver lining in current Tottenham crisis

Injured players get bonus recovery time
Cristian Romero injured his hamstring on international duty with Argentina on Nov. 16. Said to be a serious injury, Romero will not return to action until January at the earliest. The serious strain could also keep him out of the lineup until February.
Unfortunately for Spurs, it looks like Romero will be out just long enough for all of the postponed matches — Burnley, Rennes and Brighton — to be rescheduled and played. Although there is no chance the aforementioned matches will be played in December, such is the nature of an incredibly congested festive period. But the Premier League will want to schedule both Premier League fixtures as soon as possible. Let’s hope the powers that be can’t find a time to reschedule them prior to Romero’s return.
It looks like Sergio Reguilon, who injured his thigh in Spurs’ 3-0 win over Norwich last week, should be more fortunate, so long as he isn’t Covid-19 positive. His injury is thought to be comparatively minor. If it’s a minor strain, like most reports suggest, Reguilon might even be able to return when Tottenham travel to Leicester next Thursday, on Dec. 16.
The news is even better for Emerson Royal, who should be good to go for the Leicester match. He suffered from an illness against Norwich and, as long as he isn’t one of the players who tested positive for Covid-19, should return on Dec. 16.
