1. Time and a favourable fixture list bodes well for Conte

The comeback win will create a positive aura behind the scenes. Sure, it wasn’t the most convincing of victories, but that won’t matter to Conte and his staff. The win, and the way his side reacted in the second half, is all that matters. It’s a platform to improve from.

Conte had no time to work with his senior players before they flew to all corners of the globe for national obligations. Now the Italian gaffer has the most valuable finite resource on his side, time.

He can work with the entire collective, instilling his beliefs, philosophy and vision. He can mould his squad the way he sees fit. A favourable run of fixtures also bodes well for Spurs, who look forward to a string of matches they’ll be expected to win.

Spurs travel to Mura for a European Conference League match before playing away at Burnley on Sunday. Successive home matches against Brentford and Norwich precede a home test against Rennes. An away test against Brighton rounds out a collection of fixtures Spurs should win. By then, Conte will have improved substantially every facet, both on and off the pitch, of his new side.
