Full XI and Tottenham Substitutes

With only two players unavailable, Ryan Sessegnon and Bryan Gil, there are likely going to be some disappointed fellows on Sunday for not being selected at all. However, the Premier League bench only allows for nine players to be named so some folks are going to have to miss out.

Defensively, we can expect Pierluigi Gollini, Eric Dier, Joe Rodon, and Japhet Tanganga to all be in the team. Given Tanganga’s versatility and ability to play either right-back or right-wingback, he gets the nod over Matt Doherty.

Further up the pitch, Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele provide cover for the central midfield. Finally, Conte has three alternatives to his attacking trio, with Dele Alli, Giovani Lo Celso, and Steven Bergwijn all making the cut. Besides Doherty, Dane Scarlett and Brandon Austin also miss out having all three been included midweek against Vitesse.

Tottenham continues in the 3-4-2-1 formation that Conte used against Vitesse. In many ways this is the base or basic formation under Conte and everything from here forward will get more complex and Spurs will have more options. However, with limited time to prepare, we see more of what was working against Vitesse.
