Defence

Hugo Lloris 6/10

Hugo Lloris had no chance on the United goals. Beaten by quality and class, Hugo was taken completely out of proceedings by Cavani and Ronaldo and Rashford’s goals.

Ben Davies 2/10

Ben Davies’ first Premier League start did not go according to plan. He let Cristiano Ronaldo wonder free on United’s opener, was wasteful in possession and caused no trouble whatsoever for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who enjoyed a leisurely day at the office.

Eric Dier 3/10

Eric Dier was pulled slightly out of position on Cavani’s goal, and was culpable for United’s third goal. Out of place and without a clue, Rashford wandered easily behind to pour salt in Spurs’ wounds. Dier simply isn’t good enough to snuff out the danger of such formidable attackers. This isn’t news to Spurs supporters, who have seen Dier underperform for almost two years now.

Christian Romero 4/10

Once again the best of a miserable bunch, Chrisitan Romero made a few good passes and, for the most part, tackled decently. Though I’m looking for a silver lining, it’s difficult to find on a destitute day in north London.

Emerson Royal 3/10

Both Spurs full backs didn’t press nearly enough. Emerson Royal attempted to trouble United’s defence with multiple crosses, all of which were either over or under hit.
