Tottenham attacker ratings

Tottenham played in their typical 4-2-3-1 set-up and had Bryan Gil and Steven Bergwijn on either side of Harry Kane for the front line.

Steven Bergwijn – Left forward

Steven Bergwijn had a few moments where he almost connected on a pass or almost beat a defender or almost got his shot off. However, the Dutchman was a step off the pace most of the night and struggled to create separation with the ball from defenders. Bergwijn was popping up in the right spots he was just not popping off. 6.5

Harry Kane – Center forward

Harry Kane showed a bit more spirit and drive in this match than he did against West Ham at the weekend but that did not really seem to help his cause any. Kane only managed two shots both were in the first half and neither was close. On both of his shots, Kane finished on the ground which is not a recipe for success. Clearly lacking in confidence and maybe a bit in desire, Kane continues to be firing blanks.  5

Bryan Gil – Right forward

It was promising to see Bryan Gil starting the match for Spurs, although less so to see him on the right as a natural left-winger. Bryan looked to be a willing runner on both ends of the pitch putting in a tackle and driving at defenders. Unfortunately, Gil injured himself less than 30 minutes into the match leading to Moura’s introduction. A disappointing result on what should have been a promising day for the young attacker. 5
