Midfield

Oliver Skipp 8/10

When you don’t see too much of Oliver Skipp, you know he’s doing precisely the job asked of him. Unassuming and forever in position, Skipp protected the back four expertly and never conceded possession. He is relentless out of possession and covers quickly an enormous swath of space. Quickly turning into a indispensable member of Nuno’s starting 11.

Pierre Hojberg 8/10

Highlighted by a sublime through ball that led to Spurs’ second goal, the Danish warrior enjoyed a sterling outing on Tyneside. He was dynamic on the ball and partnered Skipp wonderfully in the heart of midfield. With his slightly more advanced position, we’re starting to see what he is capable of on the ball.

Son Heung-min 9/10

The South Korean scored a goal and threatened throughout. His corners were unerringly dangerous. Sonny did what was expected of him against a vulnerable Newcastle rearguard.

Lucas Moura 8.5/10

Lively and dynamic and crafty, Lucas Moura was an instrumental part of Tottenham’s third goal on the cusp of halftime and almost scored after glancing Son’s corner off the crossbar earlier in the first half. He combined well with Tanguy, Harry and Sonny and has definitely earned his place in Nuno’s starting 11.

Tanguy Ndombele 9/10

Tanguy, like his offensive teammates, enjoyed a superb afternoon on Tyneside. The Frenchman was instrumental in midfield and combined perfectly with Kane, Son and Lucas. His excellent performance was highlighted by scoring Tottenham’s equalizer in the first half.
