Tottenham Projected Midfield

As mentioned at the start of the article, Spurs are going back to the 4-2-3-1 line-up, leaving only two official midfielders or five depending on how you look at things. We would hope that the four in front of the holding two are all committed to the attack leaving just two real midfielders, the holding pair.

Oliver Skipp (DM)

Oliver Skipp has shown his worth and value to this team over the last several weeks as much with the team’s play with him off the field as with his play on it. Skipp is maturing in front of our eyes as a player and gives a fan hope that brighter days are ahead. Skipp understands his role and what the team needs,  diligently trying to provide both.

Pierre Hojbjerg (DM)

When Pierre Hojbjerg first arrived from Southampton, our hope was he could be a true defensive midfielder and hold the deep midfield by himself. Over the season plus since then, that has not proven to be true. Hojbjerg is good with a partner and is improving on the attacking side, having Skipp as his partner is especially beneficial for Hojbjerg as he can trust Skipp to mostly stay home.
