Tottenham Projected Midfield

Tottenham is going to approach this match like they did many in the early season and in the preseason with an attacking 4-3-3. The key is going to be getting the right people into the midfield to create some actual connection between the defence and the attack.

Oliver Skipp (DM)

We saw at the weekend that Oliver Skipp is far more important to this team than anyone likely realized. Skipp knows and understands his role with the team and typically plays it well, protecting the defense and working to keep possession moving. We have seen a more adventurous Skipp with each outing, as long as he doesn’t lose focus on job #1 in protecting the defence, then we say adventure is out there for Skipp to find.

Giovani Lo Celso (AM)

Giovani Lo Celso will be back to a role where he is both more familiar and more comfortable, playing as one of the two attacking midfielders in the 4-3-3 set-up. Lo Celso was supposed to be an integral part of the team this season and while featuring six times, he has only played two hours of football in the last month. An unused substitute against Arsenal, Lo Celso will want to show that should not be the case and Mura is a team he should be able to beat on.

Pierre Hojbjerg (AM)

Pierre Hojbjerg has not been the rock Tottenham needs so far this season. That said, he is one player who is likely not to take losing well and will try to do something about it. Paired with Skipp he can venture further forward but still rotate back to provide more balance. Seemingly a man without a real position in the three-man midfield, but too important to leave out.
