Tottenham Loan Decision – Cameron Carter-Vickers

Whereas we have argued that not going on the loan may have slowed the development of Tanganga or Parrott, Cameron Carter-Vickers might be just the opposite. CCV is like the third-string quarterback in American football where every preseason they come in against fodder to look solid and show some promise, only to disappear when the real bullets start to fly.

Does Carter-Vickers finally get Tottenham chance?

Outside of Dele Alli, Steven Bergwijn, and Lucas Moura, Carter-Vickers has been the only Spurs to start all three preseason matches. We know Carter-Vickers started last summer and was even named to the Europa League squad before being loaned to Bournemouth, there are reasons to think this season may be different.

Santo was known at Wolves for likely big defenders, like Willy Boly, not that CCV is Boly but it does sort of reason. Carter-Vickers has improved with each outing and maybe will finally get his chance to play for a club he has been on the books at for seven seasons.

Like Tanganga, however, Carter-Vicker’s future is likely to be decided by the incoming and outgoing transfers. There is still a logjam at center-half and until something is done, CCV, like Tanganga, is on the outside looking in. Unfortunately for the American, another loan is likely looming.
