Pol Lirola – $8.8 Million

The most expensive player on our list, currently valued at $8.8 million (£6.2 million) and is probably the most like Sergio Reguilón of the group in that he really likes to get forward. Pol Lirola made 35 appearances playing 2,200+ minutes (82% of those available) for Marseille in Ligue 1 this past season.

On loan from Fiorentina, Lirola had an impact in France scoring two goals and adding three assists. His goal + assist average per 90 minutes actually equaled Sergio Reguilón’s total of .22 per 90 from his breakout season at Sevilla.

Lirola is an exciting attacking option going forward but he does have some weaknesses on the defensive end. Lirola attempted and won the least tackles of any player in our list and had the fewest pressure attempts – although he was okay when doing it. Lirola really is one to target for going forward, not for his defense.

Additionally, his price at $8.8 million (£6.2 million) on a contract until 2024 may be expensive. The real issue is that Marseille already owns an option to buy from Fiorentina now, which they have until the end of June to make a decision on. If Marseille activates that option, Lirola will effectively be off the market or double in price.
