Thierry Correia – $6.6 Million
Thierry Correia is a 22-year-old defender who was trained in the Sport CP academy. He only played 7 matches total for Sporting before moving on to Valencia this past season. Contracted with Valencia until 2024 may make a move more difficult but Correia had a good year for the club.
Making some 32 appearances, playing over 2400 minutes (63% of the minutes available), Correia got some valuable experience. Correia is an assured tackler, winning more than 55% of his attempts. However, his success when pressuring, in general, is not as good and he does commit 1.2 fouls per contest, which is a negative.
While not the best passer of the lot, completing about 76% on the season, he is a willing long-ball player and completes more than 57% of those long passes, which is well above average. A good clearer of the ball and the second-most tackles + interceptions in the group.
At $6.6 million (£4.65 million) and under contract until 2024 at Valencia, Corriea likely would end up costing more than $10 million but not much more.
