We have expressed our disdain for the same old transfer rumors that we hear window after window regarding Tottenham Hotspur. However, there is at least one long-term rumor that has resurfaced, Spurs fans will be hoping is true. Tottenham needs a creative force in the midfield and few are as good right now in England as Jack Grealish.

Grealish again tied to Tottenham

Niccolo Russo is not SkySports but he is not the Sun either and as a journalist followed by the majority of the major Tottenham outlets, he is worth listening to. Russo got some fanbases in a tizzy when he noted Tottenham had agreed to personal terms with Grealish.

Of course, this is not the first time Jack Grealish has been tied to Tottenham. We can look back as far as 2018 and find where Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs were interested in Grealish, according to the Telegraph.

That was the summer when Villa was going to need funds and Steve Bruce even came out and said Jack Grealish would be sold. This is a story Spurs fans know well, Levy lowballed Newcastle, new ownership came in and the rest is history.

According to BBC, it was £7 million that the Lilywhites and the Villans were apart. An extra  £7 million was all that was needed to get Grealish three years ago when he was only 22 years old.

No coach and too much cost = no signing

I say all this because the idea that now Tottenham will pay  £70 million for the same player they could not pony up an extra  £7 million for seems laughable. While many would love to have Jack Grealish at Tottenham Hotspur, I know I would. And many would love for this recurring rumor to be true.

The reality is until Spurs have a coach and ideally a Director of Football, agreeing to personal terms is not going to happen. Not to mention Daniel Levy coming off  £70 million to just get one of the many targets Tottenham needs. While I would really love for Russo to be right, the odds are not in favor of the Lilywhite faithful on this one.
