Three reasons Tottenham Hotspur will dominate Aston Villa

2. Villa have nothing to play for

Aston Villa has, other than pride for the emblem on their shirts, nothing to play for. They are professionals and will acquit themselves as best as possible, but Dean Smith’s side will be devoid of desperation and motivation.

Saying that, Jack Grealish is expected to make his return to the starting team for the first time since being sidelined with a shin injury in February. That’s Villa’s one hope of upsetting Spurs, though you’d expect Grealish to lack match sharpness after such an extended period on the training table.

Villa also have the advantage of being able to play loose and free. Though they’re up against a Tottenham side who’ve also enjoyed a fluid few weeks in the league, aside from the disappointing 3-1 loss to Leeds, since Jose Mourinho’s departure.
