Tottenham Attack Ratings
Two of the three players across the Tottenham attacking line scored on Sunday and Harry Kane sure gave a real effort to make it three out of three. Both Heung-Min Son and Gareth Bale found the next as the Welshman netted a hat-trick and Spurs cruised.
Bale – 9
It was exciting to see Gareth Bale in the starting line-up but things did not look great early for the Welshman. Bale seemed to give the ball away on two of his first three touches and did not seem to have any real burst about him on the day. However, like many of the great goal scorers, Bale has impeccable timing and he used that timing and his brilliant left foot to net three for Spurs. The first goal was just an incredible touch past the sprawling Aaron Ramsdale. The second goal showed the power and fury that still exists in that magic boot of his. The third was like a training exercise with Bale just taking his turn. Against the lesser competition, Gareth Bale excels and we saw that Sunday.
Son – 8
Seemingly denied a goal by poor angles on a replay that probably should never have occurred, Heung-Min Son will have to settle with a goal and assist and one really good shift on Sunday. Sonny gave and received several good tackles but the South Korean was back to his smiling best. Looking to actually run with the ball in some space Son was bright. His assist for Bale’s second showed excellent vision on the break and his goal was well taken. Just the kind of effort to get him going as Heung-Min looks to try and reach 20 league goals.
Kane – 7
There is no doubting that Harry Kane tied up his laces with real intent on Sunday as the talisman took five shots. However, it seems Spurs’ goal machine left his scoring boots at home. Denied off the line by Chris Basham and fluffed his lines on a decent chance on a good Reguilon cross. Kane clearly wanted to score and was influential in several good Tottenham moves. His passing was excellent just never got that goal he was looking for, fortunately, the Spurs did not need one.
