Bale, Aurier top ratings as Tottenham Hotspur slash Sheffield 4-0

Tottenham Defensive Ratings
We were looking for a shutout against a team that was averaging only about 1/2 a goal a match coming in and that was exactly what Tottenham got. Conceding only four shots on the day with Lloris stopping the one on target, we saw a strong, possession-based gameplan is the best approach for the Lilywhites defense.
Lloris – 7
Hugo Lloris made a nice save on the only shot on target from Oliver Norwood. It was well struck but mostly at Lloris. Hugo also did well in the first half cutting out a cross from David McGoldrick. Had one big claim in the second half to avoid any mishaps defensively in the box. Sunday was the kind of game we need for and from Hugo Lloris.
Reguilon – 7
Sergio Reguilon was very active, particularly in the first half, getting up and down the pitch. Reguilon was providing width and some drive from the far left. Sergio combined with Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli well in the first half to push the team forward. Was unlucky not to get an assist on a nice cross to Harry Kane, which the talisman hit over. Came close to scoring late but was quieter in the second half after a huge collision in the first half.
Dier – 7
Eric Dier had one of his better games as a center-half, although he almost made a calamitous mistake in the first half. Trying to play the ball back and forth with Pierre Højbjerg, Dier misplayed a pass which led to a Sheffield break and ultimately a shot that went wide. Was rarely under pressure most of the rest of the match and improved with his passing as the match went on.
Alderweireld – 7.5
Toby Alderweireld was not quite his old self but more of the Belgian’s game was on display on Sunday. Toby had a couple different attempts at the big diagonal ball although he could not quite connect with Dele or Son. Toby was solid in the air and excellent with the ball. He almost scored on two different corners but did not get the bounce he needed.
Aurier – 8
Serge Aurier was solid defensively and excellent going forward on Sunday. Combing well with Gareth Bale to provide both push and pressure, Aurier was awarded a couple of assists. His first assist to Gareth Bale was a beauty as the Ivory Coast captain hit a perfect chip over the defense, which Bale dinked in. His second assist was easier but came from good aggressive fullback play.
