Projecting first Ryan Mason Tottenham Hotspur starting XI
By Aaron Coe
Tottenham Attack
The Spurs will be in more of a 4-1-4-1 of sorts with the inverted triangle in the center of the park. This means the two flanks will be asked to get up and down and work to provide service to striker Carlos Vinicius.
Bale – Right wing
One of the reasons Jose Mourinho is no longer at Tottenham Hotspur was his inability to see eye-to-eye with Daniel Levy on some of the players he was playing. Gareth Bale was one of those players. Bale will have a chance now to show it was Mourinho and not him holding back his performances or can prove the one season loan was more than enough.
Vinicius – Striker
Carlos Vinicius gets the call up-top with Harry Kane out. Hopefully, this means Dane Scarlett has a chance to sniff some second-half minutes, but only after Vinicius has taken care of business. With an emphasis on the play wide and getting some service in expect Vinicius to see some balls. With a need to press and pressure, also expect to see him scurrying all over the pitch. This is a big, big chance for Carlos, let’s hope he takes it.
Son – Left wing
While we would still like to see Heung-Min Son on the right-wing, for reasons we have already covered, Son is more likely to start on the left with Mason’s first team. Son will be one of the players Mason will be looking to lead on the pitch. Clearly distraught over the performances the last few weeks, hopefully, we see a nice smile and some good effort from the South Korean.
