Tottenham Striker and Substitutes

The starting striker for Tottenham is not a surprise. While we would like to see two up front the reality is only Harry Kane is likely to take the pitch up top when the Spurs start the match. The real question marks are with the bench and who does or doesn’t make the cut.

Harry Kane – Striker

Kane scored two in two matches for England and continues to seem to score when he wants. After Mohammad Salah scored on Saturday to go one up on Kane in the Premier League Golden Boot race, you can definitely expect Spurs talisman to be looking to find the net at least once. However, with four yellow cards and just five goals in 12 matches against Newcastle, Kane scoring against the Magpies is not automatic. All the more reason to expect Kane to bring it Sunday.

Tottenham Substitutes

Despite a couple of players being out injured there is likely not going to be room for two teenagers in the Lilywhite squad. We know Mourinho likes to have options and cover, especially defensively on his bench, so likely Dane Scarlett and Alfie Devine miss the cut with either Eric Dier or Toby Alderweireld joining them in the stands.

Joe Hart of course is the backup keeper and Japhet Tanganga is on the bench for his flexibility defensively. Add in Moussa Sissoko and that is about all the cover Spurs will get. The rest of the team is likely attackers, with Dele, Lo Celso, Bale, and Bergwijn, and Vinicius all available for selection.
