Forwards

Harry Kane 5.5/10

Tottenham’s talisman created a few chances in the first half. He almost assisted Dele Alli from a brilliant cross, but Dele was unable to deposit the final touch. A wholly placid display prevented Kane from influencing the match significantly. His header was saved off the line at the back post in the dying embers.

Dele Alli 4/10

The Englishman delivered a nice touch pass to Erik Lamela in the first half but whiffed on another golden opportunity in the opening stanza. Dele, in truth, didn’t do nearly enough, playing the part of a fringe member, resembling closely the rest of his season.

Subs

Gareth Bale 6/10

Showed more than his offensive colleagues. Bale delivered a brilliant cross to Harry Kane, whose resulting header was saved off the line. He also created a few more moments of promise. Unfortunately his influence dissipated as extra time progressed.

Tanguy Ndombele 5/10

Just let Orsic run through on Zagreb’s winner. His final touch wasn’t nearly good enough. He had energy and made a few smart plays but, like the rest of his team, didn’t come close to his best.

Giovanni Lo Celso 6.5/10

It’s great to see the Argentinian back after a long injury layoff. He was one of the only bright spots in an otherwise grim affair. Of course he showed some rust but looked positive. Played a nice through ball to Lucas Moura in the second half. And was a rare bright spot for the away side.

Carlos Vinicius 4/10

Didn’t offer anything when Spurs needed him the most. Not good enough from the Brazilian, who still has a point to prove.

Sergio Reguilon 6/10

Offered energy and a slight threat down the byline, providing a few crosses. His last touch let him down, but, in a brief cameo, at least showed a bit of positive intent.
