Midfield

Harry Winks 4/10

Played a cautious, slow, unimaginative part in tonight’s fixture. Harry Winks has never been known for creativity and incisive passing, but at least he used to try a through ball once and a while. His lack of confidence is palpable.

Moussa Sissoko 3.5/10

Similar to his central midfield counterpart, Moussa Sissoko’s performance left a lot to be desired. He was too slow in possession, coughing the ball up in dangerous positions. While sturdy and well positioned, the Frenchman looks laboured both with and without the ball. A poor overall performance.

Erik Lamela 4/10

He saw his golden first half opportunity blocked by Kévin Théophile-Catherine. It was the only opportunity Lamela had to make a lasting impression. The Argentine held on to possession too long at times and showed signs of weariness from the emotional rollercoaster he endured on Sunday.

Lucas Moura 5/10

Tried to show his pace and guile on the dribble but his threat was almost entirely snuffed out. His final touch let him down on numerous occasions. He did make a few threatening runs and almost poked a Lo Celso through ball home. Like the rest of his teammates, Moura didn’t show enough on the night.
