Arsenal have a measly 16 goals in 13 home matches this season. It’s an entirely underwhelming number, especially when you consider that Arsenal sprung for four goals against Leeds in their second most recent encounter at the Emirates.

Ignoring that offensive explosion has the Gunners scoring at a goal-per-game rate. Arsenal have been shutout on six separate occasions already this season, emphasizing exactly how anemic their home attack is. Not scoring in 46 percent of your home matches is reason for grave concern. It’s an alarming statistic Spurs will be acutely aware of. And it starkly contradicts Arsenal’s ingrained attack-first philosophy. There are, however, occasions the Gunners score in bunches, with Arteta’s side bagging at least three goals in three home matches this season.

But having the same number of home goals as Newcastle tells an extremely solemn tale for Gunner supporters.

If Tottenham can play on the front foot, they have every chance of stifling the most disappointing home attack in the Premier League. Tottenham have conceded just two goals in their last four games and are playing a much more sound defensive game, albeit against comparatively weaker opponents.

While the stats bode well for Spurs, oftentimes they count for nothing when these two bitter rivals meet. Let’s hope that’s not the case on Sunday.
