Midfield

Pierre Hojberg’s presence in central midfield is as close to a sure thing as you’ll find. The guaranteed starter is as crucial to Tottenham’s machine as any other player, aside from Harry Kane of course.

Tanguy Ndombele took a bunch of knocks last night but should be good to go for the behemoth fixture. He’s another crucial element in the centre of the park for a side who relies on his work rate, ingenuity and ability to Houdini unscathed from confined spaces.

Son Heung-min and Gareth Bale will invariably take their positions on the left and right side of attacking midfield, respectively. Bale enjoyed another sterling cameo, the Welshman showcasing uncanny skill, with a wondrous cross dispatched with the outside of his supposedly weaker right foot, immediately after being introduced. Son is still looking to end his scoring drought, though the South Korean’s dry patch has not prevented him from stepping up his playmaking game.
