Defence

Toby Alderweireld, who enjoyed some well-deserved rest last night, will be amped and ready to go. He will be partnered by Davinson Sanchez, whose recent improved play has secured his spot in Jose’s preferred central tandem.

Sergio Reguilon will get the nod on the left side of defence, the Spaniard taking his rightful spot in Spurs’ starting team. Ben Davies enjoyed a solid performance against Zagreb, but will make way for the slick Spaniard.

Matthew Doherty will probably start against the Gunners, though Serge Aurier enjoyed a stellar outing against Dinamo in his return to the side. I’d expect Aurier to start again on Sunday if he hadn’t just recovered from a calf injury that kept him out of the lineup temporarily. Aurier, however, was outstanding, so if he’s able to play he will. But Jose should be compelled to err on the side of caution, as he’ll need the Ivorian at his best in the run in.
