Tottenham Substitutes and Coach Ratings

Tottenham starters did most of the heavy lifting for Spurs with no substitute garnering more than 20 minutes. Erik Lamela provided his usual energy and effort, and Moussa Sissoko helped keep the shape. It was great to see Carlos Vinicius late, even if it was late.

Erik Lamela – 7

Erik Lamela was his active and aggressive self. Probably could have been better in the final third, but was on the ball a lot for playing only 20 minutes. Managed three tackles helping the Spurs see out the match. Had his only shot blocked and likely wanted more minutes, but there is always midweek in Europe.

Moussa Sissoko – 7

Moussa Sissoko came on and did something he normally does not do, which was have a perfect day passing. Going 16 for 16 with his passes in 20 minutes Sissoko helped Spurs maintain possession and see out the match. However, outside of those 16 passes, Sissoko had not one tackle, take-on, or interception, although he did have a clearance. Was probably more a reflection of Spurs dominance on the ball than anything.

Carlos Vinicius – N/A

it was great to see the Brazilian striker come on for Harry Kane for the last 10 minutes. While Kane surely wanted a third goal and the match ball, he was already the first player since Jurgen Klinsmann to have two goals and two assists in the same Premier League match. Vinicius on the other hand did not manage a touch on the ball in his 10 minutes, although it is always good to see Kane get the rest in a Spurs win.

José Mourinho – 8

José Mourinho had his team ready and set up for success today. While everyone will not love the starting line-up, for Serge Aurier to continue to recover and Tanguy Ndombele to get some much-needed rest is big. Whatever was said at half-time worked, as Spurs were a different team after the break. They were in control but not ruthless in the first half, in the second half, there was only ever going to be one outcome. Spurs are on the rise, hopefully, José Mourinho can help that continue.
