Midfield

The headline grabber is definitely seeing Bale lineup in the starting team. While his place in the first team isn’t a forgone conclusion, it would be nonsensical for Jose not to start the Welshman after his turn in form. Bale’s recent performances have been full of energy, class and skill. He’s even showed signs of his vintage Tottenham self, with dazzling runs and a classy, first-time blistering left-footed finish into the top of the net against Wolfsberger.

The rest of the midfield is at is was against West Ham. All three of the other midfield starters are on Tottenham’s top five players of the season list. Ndombele will again patrol a deep central position. He’ll be tested against Burnley, a side that plays a dogged, physical style of football. If the Frenchman matches Burnley’s desire, his class should take over.

Son Heung-Min rounds out the midfield quartet. The South Korean has struggled mightily lately, scoring just one in his last nine Premier League outings. He’ll be desperate to get on the scoresheet on Sunday, and I expect a dazzling performance from the well-rested Korean.

Dele Alli has also impressively fought his way back into contention, but will start on the bench after dazzling outing against Wolfsberger. However, expect Dele to infiltrate the first team in the weeks to come.
