Tottenham Offensive Ratings

The Tottenham attack was on from early stages on Wednesday against Everton. While a defender – Davinson Sanchez – scored two of the goals, they were both off corners generated by the offense and attack. While it does not feel good to lose and likely José Mourinho will make changes to avoid conceding five goals again, seeing Tottenham with 29 shots and 12 on target sure felt good.

Steven Bergwijn – 6

Steven Bergwijn started the game with high energy and was causing problems on the left for the Everton defense. Those problems helped lead to several early corners including the first goal. However, as the half wore on Bergwijn seemed to wear out and grew less and less a factor in the match. By the time he came off just 7 minutes into the second half, you almost wonder why he started the second half at all. Whether it is fitness, position, confidence, or something else, Steven Bergwijn is not on and does not seem that close to being on at the moment.

Heung-Min Son – 7.5

Heung-Min Son did some things very well for Tottenham. Son was able to get the ball out on the flanks alot, with the aid of all the corner kicks Son knocked in some 19 crosses and ended up with 3 assists. His assist to Kane late in the second half to tie the game at 4 was a beauty and the kind of work getting to the endline we need to see more often from the South Korean. Was not a factor in front of goal, despite getting five shots, only 2 were on target.

Lucas Moura – 6.5

Lucas Moura was a lot better than Steven Bergwijn in terms of effort. You always know what you are going to get from Moura with his running on the field. Sometimes that running produces amazing results others, not so much. Wednesday was ultimately one of those not so much days as the Brazilian had four dribbles and was fouled as many times, but was also dispossessed four times, which is not good. Need some end product to go with the effort.
