More than last time please

While Chelsea may be used to it, having had four nil-nil draws in all competitions this season, Tottenham Hotspur do not play too many nil-nil affairs. In fact of 34 matches played by Spurs in all competitions this season, it was only the last meeting between Tottenham and Chelsea that has produced a 0-0 draw.

Both teams approached that match unusually cautious and hopefully having Tuchel in charge will change some of the dynamic from what was there before. Harry Kane had one really good chance in that match, but he inexplicably missed the target. Steven Bergwijn had an even better opportunity, but also failed in his efforts. Chelsea had a lot more chances and mostly missed the target.

It was a match where Spurs had the better of play – not by much – but the better of play in the first half. The second half was more of Spurs kind of hanging on, although Chelsea really never seemed that likely to score. Chelsea had more possession and chances overall, but could not capitalize and the game ended 0-0.

Whether a fan or a neutral, you just want to see more in this match. Both teams really need the win and that should help open up the action given how well so many teams have already done this week. The room for error is more or less gone and both teams will be looking to make a statement with hectic schedules ahead.

Expect a more open game than the last time, with some goals as a result and maybe an extra goal late as a team goes chasing. 3-1 Spurs, although it could easily go the other way, but Vinicius gets in there and Tottenham start to mount their top four charge.
