Tottenham Midfield

Tottenham have been stronger in the middle of the park with just the duo of Pierre Højbjerg and Tanguy Ndombele. Mourinho continues with this approach and has some players more naturally suited to assist those two outside of them as Spurs look to dominate through the middle of the pitch.

Ben Davies (LMF)

After the Matt Doherty experiment failed completely and Harry Winks was really no better in whatever role he played Thursday, Juse Mourinho goes with a slightly more natural player at the outside of the midfield in Ben Davies. Davies can and will get back defensively to help young Joe Rodon behind him. The Welshman is also a willing runner who will knock a couple balls into the box and provide a few overlaps. Having someone who can actually use their left foot consistently on the left flank is a smart move after midweek.

Tanguy Ndombele (CM)

Tanguy Ndombele has been the best Tottenham player for the last month or so. While Kane still has the most production, it has been Ndombele who has been critical in helping to unlock defenses and organize Spurs against the ball. Ndombele is a better presser than most realize and his ability with the ball at his feet is second to none. Clearly operating even better with more space from the two man midfield, look for Ndombele to dominate the match.

Pierre Højbjerg (CM)

Speaking of dominating the match, the other Spurs who will look to be super active is Pierre Højbjerg. In all likelihood, Højbjerg had too many touches against Liverpool as he is not really dynamic enough of a passer to make 100 of them a game. However, his goal and his continued effort despite everything happening during the match shows just what a warrior he is. Seemingly striking up a great partnership with Ndombele, Højbjerg does his thing against Bright.

Lucas Moura (RMF)

Tottenham need to get back to some of the basics and while Moura can be exceedingly frustrating at times as a player, he is also a workhorse. Given the lack of complete faith in Davinson Sanchez behind him, have Lucas Moura start at the right midfield gives Spurs a more than willing attacker who will also get back and help defensively. While it is possible we Serge Aurier, in all likelihood, Aurier is out a couple matches and we hope and pray it is not Matt Doherty.
