Tottenham Hotspur have not played for over a week but with three games in the next seven days, expect a rotated line-up to face Wycombe in the FA Cup. After a relatively easy time with Marine in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup, Spurs have a bigger task with Championship club Wycombe on Monday. Here are the 20 HotspurHQ expect to be selected including the XI we think José Mourinho will start.

Ben Davies Cup Captain

Tottenham were very effective in a 3-4-3 the last time we saw Spurs play, however, expect a reversion back to the traditional 4-2-3-1 for Wycombe as Spurs want to limit the tape on alternative formations before Liverpool on Thursday.

While starters have had a week to recover, do not expect to see club skipper Hugo Lloris between the sticks on Monday meaning Spurs have a back-up captain. Given the odds of seeing Harry Kane are equally low, all signs point to Ben Davies serving as the leader on the pitch. Only Davies, Lloris, and Toby Alderweireld have officially worn the armband for Spurs this season, so this should come as no surprise.

Davies is going to have a big role to play in the match, as Wycombe like to play through the middle but then get the ball out wide to cross into the box. Whether it is Fred Onyedinma, David Wheeler, or Garath McCleary playing out wide on the right, expect to see the ball being crossed into the box. This means Davies will need to be ready to play in space and apply good pressure to limit the opportunities in the penalty area.

With the possibility of there being a lot of crosses from the Wanders into the box, expect to see some size on the back line of Tottenham’s defense.
