Tottenham Hotspur Projected XI for Marine FC in FA Cup
By Aaron Coe
Tottenham Front Line
Across the front line, Tottenham goes with rotation in full as Son makes the trip, but Kane is left at home. Carlos Vinicius finally gets his opportunity to show his stuff again at Tottenham boast an all South American attacking line.
Erik Lamela (RW)
Going with the more inverted ‘wingers’ in a match where Spurs expect the fullbacks to be bombing forward, oft-injured Argentine Erik Lamela finally returns to the starting line-up. In a game that will be looking for some magic, Lamela has the tenacity, drive, and willingness to make something happen. Not to mention that Erik is excellent pressing defensively and Spurs will be looking to pressure Marine into mistakes, one of Lamela’s specialties.
Carlos Vinicius (ST)
In some ways this may be wishful as it is quite possible that either Harry Kane or Heung-Min Son lead the line for Tottenham Hotspur. However, this is exactly the kind of match Carlos Vinicius was brought in for and the kind of match he needs to play. The Brazilian looked bright in very limited action versus Brentford. Look for the big target to be a focal point of the offense.
Lucas Moura (LW)
Playing next to Carlos Vinicius helping him feel comfortable is Lucas Moura. Lucas returned from being out midweek and played 71 minutes against Brentford. With Steven Bergwijn seemingly injured and ideally Son not playing Moura gets the call. Gareth Bale could potentially get the call here, but we envision Bale as one of the substitutes, rather than being risked from the off. Moura should have a field day with his pace on the ball something Marine will be unfamiliar with.
