Tottenham Hotspur Projected XI for Marine FC in FA Cup
By Aaron Coe
Tottenham Midfield Three
Tottenham did show a little bit of a single-pivot midfield in the win over Brentford as often Pierre Højbjerg was far into the attacking half while Moussa Sissoko sat or vice versa. The results was positive as Tottenham did not need as much protection for the backline. Look for a similar approach Sunday, even is the players are not all the same.
Moussa Sissoko (DM)
We know Harvey White will be in the team, however, after seeing Japhet Tanganga come in for Pierre Højbjerg midweek, we have a hard time believing that White would start this match. Hopefully, the young man gets some minutes, but they will not be at the opening whistle. This should finally be Højbjerg’s turn in the rotation to sit, so Moussa Sissoko is one of the two holding midfielders, although they take turns really pushing into attack on the day.
Harry Wink (DM)
With Højbjerg off, it is Harry Winks next to Moussa Sissoko in midfield pairing fans loved to hate in the Pochettino era. However, both Sissoko and Winks are new players under Mourinho showing more going forward. Look for Winks to be active in the attacking half and hopefully add to his assists in a game where his passing should be able to dominate proceedings. If Winks can be on the ball and aggressive it will be good. He has been more defensive of late, but that is not necessary for this one.
Dele Alli (ACM)
We thought he would have started two weeks ago against Fulham in the game that was cancelled. After missing out on the rotation opportunity, it was unlikely we were going to see Dele Alli in the last couple of matches from the off. While there is always the possibility the Gareth Bale takes this spot, Dele Alli will hopefully get some minutes and put on a show for us, as he should have ample opportunity with the ball.
