Tottenham Forward Ratings

Tottenham continued to push even after the first goal, as Kane and Son worked hard to connect. Ultimately, it was Son from Ndombele for the second for Spurs, but certainly not from a lack of trying elsewhere as all three attackers worked and ran hard.

Lucas Moura – 6.5

Besides Hugo Lloris, Lucas Moura had the least touches of any Spur in the starting XI. However, the touches Moura had were meaningful. Lucas Moura earned the first foul of the match less than 45 seconds into the game as he was driving on the dribble just past midfield. While the plays did not always come off, Moura was looking to dribble. And attack. Was unlucky not to score late in the first half off a deflected header. Substituted for the last 20 with Harry Winks closing.

Harry Kane – 7

Harry Kane clearly had one thing on his mind during the match, attack. Whether it was picking up the ball in midfield and looking to bang the ball forward, or attacking on the dribble in the box, or taking one of his 3 shots, Harry Kane was looking to attack. Was highly active on both ends of the pitch with good pressure defensively and great movement offensively to create space and generate opportunities. Not the most efficient evening but played a small part in the build-up to both goals.

Heung-Min Son – 8

Heung-Min Son caused problems for Brentford all night long. Whether it was the threat of Son over the top with his pace and power or Son working to get off one of his three shots, the South Korean made his mark. Son scored the second to seal the game with a nice diagonal run for a through ball from Tanguy. Almost scored on what would have been a remarkable volley, but the ball bounced just wide. Another strong effort, which included one tremendous block in the box defensively in the first half as well.
