Tottenham Coach and Bench Ratings

Tottenham Hotspur had the right game plan and brought the right intensity to the match and it paid off handsomely for Spurs. After being a bit upset with Mourinho for things against Wolves, we must give the credit where it is due after the Leeds match.  Ultimately, Tottenham had the right approach and Mourinho pulled the right levers at the right time.

Moussa Sissoko – 6

Moussa played the longest of any of the substitutes and it was just over a quarter of an hour as he replaced the clearly tiring Harry Winks. Sissoko ran around and applied some pressure. Completed nine of ten passes on the day.

Lucas Moura – 6

Lucas Moura came on for Tanguy Ndombele just a couple minutes after Sissoko came on. Like Sissoko, most of what Moura did was run around. He also attempted ten passes, but only completed seven of them. Managed to win a tackle and helped to preserve the shutout.

Carlos Vinicius – N/A

Carlos Vinicius made only his second appearance for Tottenham in a Premier League match. In his first minutes since getting 12 against West Brom in early November, Vinicius came on for Harry Kane for the last three minutes of the match. Vinicius did manage to earn a foul and commit a foul during his three minutes. More notably, he did a nice job of holding up the ball at midfield and turning on his defender before he was fouled. Nice to see the big Brazilian who we may see more of over the next two matches with Brentford and Marine FC the next two games for Spurs.

Coach José Mourinho – 8

José Mourinho seemed to have the team just where they needed to be for the match on Saturday. Spurs bounced back from a few tough outings and looked solid for most of the match. Things got a bit stale after the hour mark and then bringing on energy in Sissoko and Moura helped to seal the game for Tottenham. While fans may change how they feel based on wins and losses, the coach does not change, and that steadiness is starting to show through.
