Tottenham Bench and Coach Rating

Heung-Min Son – 6

Heung-Min Son played a half for Spurs coming on for Gareth Bale. It was a noticeably quiet half for Son as he managed less than 25 touches in the time and did not officially take a shot. I say officially because Son was flagged twice for offsides and on one of those two occasions he had the ball in the back of the net. With VAR it probably would have been close, but without it, there was no argument to make so no shot ever occurred. They cannot all be great games for the South Korean star, and he is almost a lock to start Sunday versus Wolves.

Erik Lamela – 6.5

It was great to see Erik Lamela back out on the pitch for Tottenham. Whatever it was that had been ailing the Argentine was nowhere to be he moved well. Erik did not necessary do a lot in his time on the pitch, other than be on it, which at minimum is aggravating to the opposition. Spurs need the dimension he brings to the game and when deployed appropriately he is a difference maker.

Moussa Sissoko – 7

Moussa Sissoko came on at the same time as Erik Lamela in a double change with the game hanging in the balance tied at two. Sissoko ended up making a big play late and did some decent work before that. Playing out at right wing – where does he not play – Sissoko helped to get Doherty moving a bit and provided some attack down the right wing that was not there with Lucas Moura on the evening. Made the big interception that led to him assisting Kane’s goal. Job done for Moussa.

José Mourinho – 7

You can tell he is getting closer to a trophy in this competition as José Mourinho seemed to pull the right levers from the off on Wednesday. A strong line-up that dominated possession if not the scoreboard quite as much as one would have liked in the first half. In game substitutes impacted the match. Was a vocal as he has been all season and could be heard yelling often across the pitch at individual players and the team.

So, there are the ratings from the big victory, what do you think? What did we get right? What did we get wrong?
