Tottenham, just as they started to gain momentum, have been brought back to Earth with a stark reality check, so what does Jose Mourinho’s plan of attack look like in Son Heung-Min’s absence? 

Many supporters and neutrals have written Spurs off after hearing news of their instrumental Son’s potentially season-ending injury. Lady luck has betrayed Tottenham yet again, taking the form of an evil temptress. You’ll remember that Harry Kane, at almost the same time last year, was struck down by a long-term ailment at Manchester City.

This year things have turned from bad to worse, with Son Heung-Min, arguably the club’s most valuable player even when Kane is in the team, unavailable for at about six to eight weeks. And only two days prior the the knockout stage of the Champions League.

Tottenham, however, have no time to wallow in self-pity. Even if they tried to, Jose Mourinho won’t condone it. Spurs are comprised of fighters, individuals who won’t go quietly into the night. The question is whether Spurs have enough depth and quality to achieve the same goals without their two superstar attackers.

Mourinho will need to use every ounce of his experience and knowledge to foment a viable contingency plan. Here’s a few options the gaffer might employ.
