Dele dominates against Southampton: Tottenham player ratings
By Gary Pearson
Midfield
Tanguy Ndombele 5.5/10
Our bull in midfield was precisely that. But he lacked, other than a fortunate bounce on the opener, the final touch. He tracked back well and got himself about, but often resembled a bull in a china shop.
Harry Winks 7/10
Harry is currently in great form, particularly when he lines up beside the on-fire Giovani Lo Celso, who was missing from last night’s contest. But Harry still impacted the match more than any other midfielder. Though he wasn’t exceptional, Harry was confident with the ball and played well positionally.
Serge Aurier 6/10
Serge was average on most accounts last night. He showed glimpses of superb play but also endured sub-par patches.
Eric Dier 5/10
Eric Dier continually fails to make the most of his chances. The Englishman perpetually looks like he’s caught in quicksand he cannot escape from. Too slow and lumbered, Dier doesn’t have the pace or confidence to currently play at the top level.
