Levy compromises, as Tottenham on cusp of confirming Eriksen to Inter

Football Italia are reporting today that Tottenham are going to accept Inter Milan’s £15 million offer for Christian Eriksen in the coming days.
There has been loads of back and forth about this potential deal. But is seems Daniel Levy is on the verge of compromising with Inter Milan over his out-of-favour Dane. That’s a word you rarely hear in the same sentence where Levy is concerned.
Levy set his selling price at £20 million but isn’t in the strongest negotiating position. If this deal falls through, it’s more than likely that Spurs would lose Eriksen on a free transfer come season’s end.
Inter director Piero Ausilio travelled to England yesterday, but, according to Football-Italia, said there were “no developments” on his return to Italy. However, Ausilio has remained rather tight-lipped during the process, actually refusing to acknowledge not long ago that Milan had even been speaking to Tottenham officials.
Everyone in both camps is hoping for a quick and painless end to this saga, especially Eriksen and Spurs supporters. The time has come to part ways, as things have become untenable between the two parties.
I’m sure Eriksen, with a new lease on life, will thrive with the Italian giants. And while Spurs will miss his ability to thread the needle, life at Tottenham for the Dane has spiralled downward since he conveyed his desire to leave in the summer.
And at least Tottenham have Gedson Fernandes, who has just signed on loan from Benfica, to look forward to. The Benfica midfielder is incredibly skilled and, with time and maturity, could grow into one of the world’s best playmakers.
It’s been real Christian, but it’s time for you to amaze and frustrate Inter fans in equal measure.
