Transfer news

Christian Eriksen confirmed his intention to leave north London, speaking to Danish publication Elkstra Bladet. The disappointing news came as no surprise to supporters, who, by witnessing some decidedly lackadaisical late season Eriksen performances, saw the writing on the wall months ago.

Some experts believe the club, by offering a massive money contract extension, can keep the Dane at Tottenham for at least another season. That news, however, was not received well by some sectors of Tottenham supporters.

If he’s not fully committed to the cause, the popular sentiment is to wish the Dane well on his new journey. Real Madrid is his likely destination, a place suited well for his type of free-flowing football. He won’t have to tackle back much on a side whose main focus is to entertain the masses via an intricate, delicate playing style. Plus, Spanish defending is as hard as butter exposed to the elements on a scorching day.

Hot on the heels of their latest transfer target, Tottenham are keen on signing PSG’s Julian Draxler for about £35 million. For that discounted rate, it’s incumbent for Spurs to act quickly. The 25-year-old performed adequately this season in France but, with confidence and the right environment, has way more to offer. Everybody is hoping Tottenham is the place that will galvanize the sleeping German giant.

Michel Vorm said his goodbyes to THFC this week. The 35-year-old moved to Tottenham in 2014, and made 47 appearances with the club.

Ryan Sessegnon rejected a contract extension with Fulham, with the teenager’s desire to play at Tottenham the main reason for his decision.
