Lo Celso perfect signing for Tottenham
Tottenham have officially bid 53 million pounds for Real Betis’ star midfielder Giovani Lo Celso. This is an excellent move and statement of ambition from the North London club.
If Tottenham are able to sign Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis it would be a wonderful move for the side. The former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is one of the best creative midfield players in Spain and has enjoyed a brilliant season, scoring 16 goals in 46 appearances for the Andalusian-based club. He has proven himself to be one of the most effective creative young players in Europe and has never looked outclassed across his spells in France and Spain.
One of the things that Tottenham are lacking the most at this juncture is additional creative impetus for the side to take some of the weight off Christian Eriksen and to make the side more dangerous. Lo Celso ticks every single box that a potential recruit could hope to fill.

He is of the right age so anyone, or all the following, could apply if he makes a mark at Tottenham:
A, he could simply have a long and effective career, B, the length of his stay will offset the sizeable transfer fee, or C, with Tottenham’s impact in the game constantly growing, he will make one of the larger clubs interested, allowing Tottenham to double their investment.
Another good piece of news is the bid amount. £53 million pounds for a player with those statistics is an amazing deal. It shows just how well-respected Daniel Levy and his team of scouts and negotiators are, and that is something for Tottenham to take pride in.
I will not digress much beyond this, but I don’t think the economics of football have shifted much, and transfer fees will change again, in part because players simply aren’t worth the money they’re costing. A shrewd businessman like Daniel Levy will hopefully return the transfer madness to a more viable and affordable level.
Spurs’ bid shows how smart and business savvy Spurs are, and that is something supporter should be happy about. That coupled with the ambition of the move shows the machinations moving behind the scenes at the New White Hart Lane are exactly what is needed for Spurs to continue their growth toward consistent success.
