Tottenham complete wonder-kid signing early
Perhaps in a rush to put the memories of the last two transfer windows behind them Tottenham have gotten off the mark quickly and signed Isak Solberg on a three year deal.
Tottenham have completed the signing of Norwegian wondered Isak Solberg on a three year deal and already broken through the signing barrier that appeared to trouble the club for the past two windows. Though Solberg is unlikely to immediately join the first team the sign of ambition that this represents is a wonderful thing for the club moving forward.
It will likely be a couple of years before Isak even makes his debut for the first team or even really effects a match in any way at the senior level. But with Tottenham’s success at coaching youth players and integrating them into the youth team this is an excellent signing and shows that the club has no intention of resting on their laurels.
They have now qualified for the Champions League yet again and built a formidable reputation in Europe now having reached the Champions League final. 10 years ago no one would have suggested that Tottenham would be challenging at this level. Now though they are and doing so in the best possible way. They’re doing it correctly with youth integrated, a connection to their supporters and earning it every step of the way. They have earned their plaudits and this sign that they are not abandoning their principals as so many do is a great thing.

Solberg by the way is an excellent prospect. The Norwegian goalkeeper could not be more highly touted and with Hugo Lloris’ performances this season on the unflattering side of questionable having a player who in a couple years could be ready to take his place is a good thing. With Lloris being 32 and Solberg turning 16 soon the team could theoretically have a perfect replacement within three or four years when Lloris is ready to step down (if he is).
Tottenham have been the example of a consistent and well run club for a long time now. The signing of Solberg while not entirely glamorous is a sign that Spurs continue to put their money where their mouth is and Solberg is a good example of that.
