Burnley, Chelsea, Arsenal, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Liverpool are the next six matches that Tottenham have in the Premier League and it’s going to be the defining period of the season.

Over the next six Premier League matches Tottenham can solidify their reputation as the top club in London and the only title challenger in the Capital or they can slip out of the Champions League places with a poor couple of months.  Spurs don’t have any time off in those upcoming matches and there’s no room to slip up at this point in the season.  Manchester United are in great form and it looks more and more like Jose Mourinho was holding the club back rather than dragging it forward.  With a giant like that behind them and the race as tight as it is there’s no room for Spurs to make any mistakes.

The only matches in that spell that won’t be unbelievably difficult aren’t even easy.  Burnley define the term Premier League battlers and Southampton are finding their spine and turning their season around.  At this point in the season anybody touching the relegation zone is even harder than before particularly a side just a point from safety.  Then finally Palace in a London derby isn’t a great thing either.

More from Tottenham News

Tottenham essentially play 50% London derby’s in the coming months in a period that perfectly exemplifies why it is so much harder to be a London club than any other.  More of the matches are emotionally charged and draining derbies than there are for any other side.  Most clubs play maybe one derby a year with the other one club in their city.  London clubs play a minimum of six derby’s.

Spurs have a match in hand and assuming they win it they’re only two points off first.  If there was ever a time to do something historic and unbelievable this would be the time.  Things right now are almost too perfect and Tottenham need to take advantage of that.

It’s going to be a tough series of matches but the title is within grasp when everyone thought it wouldn’t be.  Tottenham simply must push with every single cell in their bodies to try and turn this thing into something unbelievable and break their title duct.
