After grinding and pushing their way into the Premier League title conversation, Tottenham Hotspur took their foot off the pedal against Wolverhampton and paid the price, losing 1-3 at Wembley to Wolves.

It is not the first time this season, but it couldn’t have come at a worse time, as Tottenham Hotspur seemingly went into sleep-walk mode and let Wolverhampton Wanderers take over the game. 28 minutes into the match, Spurs were up 1-0 and Son had just missed with a wicked left footed shot mimicking the Harry Kane goal only a few minutes earlier. It was at this point, something happened, Tottenham went from pushing, pressing, and attacking to slow, slogging, and lacking creativity.

Son’s shot at 28 minutes was the 9th Spurs shot of the first half. At that point, taking one shot about every three minutes and the pressure that had led to the Tottenham goal, had the game feeling like the previous two blowouts. Then inexplicably the attack stopped and the chance to pressure Liverpool at the top of the table disappeared.

It was sixteen more minutes following Son’s effort before Harry Winks had a hapless effort from just outside the box that went several feet wide. Who would have predicted that would be Spurs last shot of THE GAME? That’s right Spurs fans, the entire second half and no shots. With the one sad Winks effort included that was one far-off-target shot over the last sixty-one minutes of the game. What happened to go from dominating a game and firing on all cylinders to falling apart and essentially stopping the attack?
