Tottenham should endeavor to have a very busy January transfer window if they want to keep the miracle that this season has been so far alive a little longer.

The only striker that Tottenham have is Harry Kane.  Luckily because that’s who it is it has worked out in favor of the Lillywhites longer than it should have.  For this reason Tottenham should buy a striker and one who would be equally comfortable partnering Harry Kane as well as playing on his own when necessary.

The answer to that is Kasper Dolberg.  The Danish Ajax player is one of the best young strikers in Europe and presents Tottenham with an excellent proposition.  At his age, he will have a high sell on value if necessary but having played at Ajax for many years now he will also be a reliable and experienced player in the Premier League.  He has European, International and Domestic league experience and can do pretty much everything as a player.

He is blessed with lightning pace for his size and a very good touch with both feet.  His play in the Ajax system will have prepared him for the highly technical style of play that Tottenham use and being a countryman and Ajax alumni with Christian Eriksen he’ll be able to adapt quickly.

One of the issues that Tottenham have had this season is a lack of adaptability.  When things aren’t going well Mauricio Pochettino does not have enough options in terms of depth to throw at the opposition nor does he have enough different methods he can set the team up in before the match to surprise and counter opposing managers.

Dolberg will be one of the best strikers in European football for a long time.  That isn’t something that anybody in the game doubts.  The question is whether or not he will do that at Tottenham.  There’s not a single reason why he couldn’t.  A strike partnership between he and Harry Kane would be something of a throwback to the traditional style of center-forwards in terms of their body type. However, both are so good technically that it could maybe be one of the best partnerships in Premier League history if given the chance.

The only way that this doesn’t work out for Spurs is if they don’t take a chance and try it.  It is a good investment for the future, looking at you Mr. Levy, and a wonderful move for the manager, club and supporters now.
