Exploring Tottenham loss to Watford
By Aaron Coe
Harry Kane and Lucas Moura played a combined 33 passes. While Lucas did play the ball that led to the goal, they only combined for 3 shots. The hold up play wasn’t great, and like it was for Dele, all the little touches and flicks, just missed their mark. This was a quiet day for this dynamic duo, but considering the ball was in the middle third, about 60% of the game and then Llorente came on to clog the middle for the final 20, should we be surprised by the lack of opportunities.
What’s next for Spurs you might ask then?
Well with the international break here, some of the squad have a chance to heal. Presumably Lloris and Sissoko will be back. Lamela I guess may be available and Son will be an option. The bad news is it an international break, where a team without enough homegrown players will again lose six from this thin squad to the English national team. No rest for the weary.
Let’s hope whatever the options, formation, or field, Spurs come with more intensity in two weeks, because an undefeated Liverpool will be ready. This is all without mentioning a difficult stretch across September, I will be posting about in the coming days. Again, no rest for the weary.
