Other thoughts on Spurs

Lucas is FAST.

Danny Rose looked notably rusty, especially in the first half. That said, it was GREAT to see him in the starting XI and being integrated back into the Spurs squad. The way we play our full backs/wing backs, depending on formation, asks a lot of them.

We cannot go with just one on the left and Kyle Walker-Peters just doesn’t seem ready for the weekly rigors of the left side as a right sided player. Isn’t that how we ruined Kyle Naughton? Having Rose back in the squad will also hopefully quell all those loan rumors, which are ridiculous when we are already short home-grown players.

Lucas is FAST.

A press with Kane, Moura, and Dele is going to be difficult for a lot of teams to deal with. The more they play together the better that press is going to be and the more Spurs will benefit.

Mousa Dembele was good, but not great. That said, seeing him go a full 90 was refreshing. I expect we see Dembele as a sub for most teams but starting against the bigger teams and in the Champions League. Thus, he likely will be a sub this weekend and then in the starting XI again against Liverpool. Although Watford is 3-0…

Son missed his second game. Don’t take this the wrong way, but I hope he misses more. A gold medal at the Asian Games for Son is the most important thing for him over the next 10 days. While Moura make take his spot in the XI for a while, Son just signed a nice 5-year deal with Spurs and is a big part of our squad and depth. The longer he is out, the better for both fronts, IMO. Good luck against Vietnam!

Kane’s yellow was harsh.

I thought Moura deserved the penalty.

Speaking of Lucas, did I ever tell you he is FAST?
