19-year-old Christian Pulisic has gained somewhat of a cult following for his classy performances in the Bundesliga this season for Borussia Dortmund and the wonderboy is showing no signs of slowing down.

With another solid season and a third place finish in the bank, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has demanded some funds from Tottenham owner Daniel levy to take the North London side to the next level and start pursuing some of Europe’s hottest talents.

An area highlighted by Pochettino for improvement is the Spurs midfield, and Calcioinsider are reporting that Tottenham are willing to meet Christian Pulisic’ £40million buy-out clause and bring him to the Premier League.

Pulisic’ notoriety has certainly been well earned this season for Dortmund, scoring five times and assisting 7 in 41 appearances for the German giants; a mean feat for a teenager.

It’s this kind of experience at such a tender age that has warranted attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs and is precisely why Spurs need to act fast if they’re to capture his signature.

Tottenham’s reported intent to spend big and capture a player of Pulisic’s talent is admirable, but Pochettino must do everything in his power to try and pull this deal off.

Why? Because signing Pulisic would be a massive coup for Spurs and it sends a real message to other top teams in the Premier League and around Europe of Tottenham’s intentions as a club.

Bringing one of the most exciting young talents in Europe to Spurs in itself would be a successful summer transfer window for Pochettino, and at £40million in today’s market for a player with the abundance of potential Pulisic possesses is a steal.

Pulisic is contracted to stay at Dortmund until 2021, however, if his buy-out clause is as reports suggest then Spurs should be jumping at the chance to sign him.
