Tottenham lost their first match in four months on Saturday, unfortunately bringing the pessimists and naysayers out from the rock they crawled under.

No shame in losing to City

Tottenham have been the best team in the Premier League since the turn of the new year, winning 11 of 14 during their four-month unbeaten run.

These type of streaks, no matter who you are, must come to an end at some point. There is no shame whatsoever in having the longest run in the top flight stopped against the champions. Sure, it’s a bitter pill to swallow but there’s no reason to overreact, or turn on our Lilywhites for such a minor blip. Gary states his frustrations in an unequivocal manner.

Fourth highest attendance in Europe

Tottenham have the fourth highest attendance numbers in Europe, Bleacher Report found. Calling Wembley home this season has helped surged Spurs to one of the apex predators across the continent.

With over 68,000 supporters each match, Tottenham can’t be too upset about this season’s happenings at their temporary home. The Lilywhites have been defeated only twice at Wembley this season. Then again, they didn’t taste defeat once during their last season at White Hart Lane, showing just how dominant Spurs were at the storied stadium.

The fantastic four

You’ll quickly run out of superlatives when describing our quality quartet. Just look at the numbers, graciously provided by @SpursStatMan. Other than Harry Kane, I’m not sure whose numbers are most impressive. Dele Alli, who some people ridiculously claim has endured a subpar season, has 17 assists to go along with 12 goals.

Son Heung-Min is two goals shy of 20 and Christian Eriksen spreads his goals and assists almost evenly.

Do any quartets in the league compare to our fearsome foursome? Only City and Liverpool can pipe up in this particular conversation but even the Reds fall short. Liverpool are blessed with the terrific trio of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane while City have David Silva, Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and either Sergio Agüero or Gabriel Jesus.
