Tottenham in the hunt to sign Lyon star

20-year-old French midfielder Lucas Tousart has been gaining a lot of attention around Europe with some impressive performances for Ligue 1 outfit Lyon.
The youngster has been a regular feature over the years in the French national youth set-up playing at every level bar the first team, which he is expected to break into sooner rather than later.
Tousart has made 42 appearances for Lyon so far this season, including a Europa League run which saw the French side reach the last 16 of the competition.
Reports suggest Tottenham are one of the teams in pursuit of the defensive midfielder and according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato, Mauricio Pochettino is ready to launch a bid for the young Lyon star when the Transfer window re-opens.
Tousart is undoubtedly a player who Pochettino could mould into a superstar, but Spurs would face stiff competition for the youngsters signature if they were to make a move, with German giants Borussia Dortmund and rivals Arsenal also keeping a close eye on the midfielder.

He made his move to Lyon back in 2015 joining the French giants from Valenciennes for a cool €2.6million and has since racked up 75 appearances, an impressive feat for a player of his age.
Spurs could potentially get the youngster on the cheap, with Lyon reportedly willing to listen to offers in the reigion of £20million.
A factor which will be promising to say the least to Pochettino with the current prices young stars are having placed on their heads in Europe’s top leagues.
Some stellar performances from the defensive midfielder this season, have shown he has the abilities to cope with the gruelling pace of the Premier League.
Tousart won’t be the only Lyon star who will be receiving offers from some of Europe’s elite clubs with the likes of Memphis Depay, Nabil Fekir to name a few who have been gaining a lot of plaudits for their performances.

It remains to be seen, however, whether or not Spurs will make a move for Tousart, but the young midfielder’s talent is unquestionable, and for the price of £20million it’s a deal that could well prove to be a steal in future seasons to come.
