Breaking the bank: Spurs 10 most expensive signings of all-time

8. Darren Bent (£24.7million)
At the time Tottenham purchased Darren Bent in 2007, he was one of the hottest prospects in English football and to be fair to the goal poacher, his time at Spurs wasn’t sorry at all. Bent played 79 times in total, scoring 25 times.
His time at White Hart Lane did come to an end, however, and he left for Sunderland in 2009. At 34-years-old you can still find Bent playing for Burton Albion in the Championship – he hasn’t scored for them yet though.
