Midfielders

Mousa Dembele 8/10:

The Belgian ox had another great outing under difficult circumstances. His strength and ability to swivel free still astounds me. Jordan Henderson and company wore Mousa Dembele like a drenched wool blanket, but the Belgian’s strength still proved too much for the Reds’ brutish tactics.

Eric Dier 4.5/10:

To say Eric Dier was a step off the pace would be a gross understatement. Dier was cumbersome in possession for the duration, his unintended through ball setting Salah up for the opener. Dier continued to cough the ball up in his own half, placing undo stress on his teammates’ shoulders.

Christian Eriksen 7/10:

The Dane had a quietly efficient, if not super outing. His passing accuracy in the final third was hit and miss, but at least Christian Eriksen attempted to penetrate the Reds’ defence.
