Hugo Lloris 6/10:

Hugo Lloris allowed two goals on three shots but wasn’t at fault for either Liverpool strike. Mohamad Salah didn’t offer the Frenchman a chance, particularly on his opening goal in the third minute. However, Lloris was a bit wasteful with the ball at his feet, often trying to force a cute short pass instead of playing the smarter option of hitting it long.

Kieran Trippier 7.5/10:

Kieran Trippier enjoyed a pretty strong outing on the right flank. He’s showing increased maturity in pivotal encounters and has taken back his spot as Spurs’ first-choice right back.

Jan Vertonghen 8/10:

This man ceases to amaze. Other than an errant first-half pass, Jan Vertonghen enjoyed a strong performance in marshalling Spurs’ rearguard. The question of whether the Belgian should have done better on Salah’s second linger, but he was, having to cover for Ben Davies, caught between two minds.

Davinson Sanchez 5/10:

This might come off a bit harsh, but I thought Davinson Sanchez had his worst outing since arriving in the summer. Even for the most experienced players, it’s not easy to play well at Anfield. The  21-year-old struggled to cope with the pressure cooker. He needlessly coughed up possession more times than I can recall, most of which in extremely vulnerable positions. His inexperience won out on the day.

Ben Davies 7/10:

Ben Davies was excellent until he allowed Salah to wriggle free in injury time. The Welshman played some inspiring stuff in the first half, including two classy bone-crunching tackles.
